This workshop is ideal for anyone interested in learning to weave. Spanning three full-day sessions held on consecutive Sundays, Truro Wool’s expert tutor and experienced weaver, Julie Cowan, will guide you through every step needed to create beautiful fabrics using a Rigid Heddle Loom.
Included:
- 3 x 6 hour workshops
- Yarn pack containing all yarn required for the workshop projects
- Choose from either Stylecraft Special DK (manmade) or West Yorkshire Spinners ColourLab DK (pure British wool). Please note there is a price difference on the workshop depending on your yarn choice.
- Use of Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom
- If you wish to take the loom home to continue working on your projects, a £150 deposit is required – £145 of this will be refunded when the loom is returned in perfect condition (£5.00 will be retained to cover processing fees)

- Understanding all the common weaving terms from ‘epi’ to ‘shed’ and lots more
- Weaving plain weave using a variety of shuttles
- How to maintain a neat selvedge

- Weaving Houndstooth
- Planning a Plaid using free software/or pen and paper
- How to calculate yarn requirements at the planning stage
- Finishing Techniques for your fabric

- This workshop is limited to a maximum of 6 participants.
Cancellation Policy:
- If your circumstances change and you are unable to attend a workshop you have booked, please let us know as soon as possible. A 90% refund will be given if the cancellation is made more than 28 days in advance of the start of your workshop (10% is required to cover administrative costs incurred). Unfortunately, no refund can be given on cancellations made within 28 days of the start of the workshop, however, we would be willing to swap your booking over to another name, should you have a friend or family member that would wish to attend in your place.
- Please be advised that if you miss one of the parts of this course, we cannot offer a catch-up session, however, please speak to us about booking a 1-2-1 session as we will, of course, do our best to assist you.
- This workshop requires a minimum of 4 participants to run.
- Very rarely circumstances beyond our control may mean that workshops must be cancelled. Should this happen, the cost of your workshop will be fully refunded.
