Chunky Bamboo Stitch Top-Down Jumper – Four-Part Knit Along (starts 01.09.22 )

The popularity of ‘Top-Down’ knits has grown enormously over the past few years as knitters realise the benefits of creating garments with no seams and the ease of making adjustments to size!
If you have ever wanted to give the technique a try, this is the workshop for you. Over the course of four sessions, Truro Wool’s knitting expert, Julie Cowan, will guide you through all of the steps to make this simple and stylish jumper. The pattern, designed by Julie specifically for this workshop, is knitted on circular needles using the ‘Top-Down’ and ‘In The Round’ methods and features a Raglan sleeve. Additional features are the decorative Bamboo stitch borders at the neckline, cuffs and a deep band at the bottom of the body making this garment flattering for all shapes.

Whether you are a novice knitter wanting to ‘crack’ that first garment or perhaps an experienced knitter that has not previously tried the ‘Top-Down’ technique, by the end of this four-part course you will have a range of new skills in your toolkit, providing you with the freedom to pick up other ‘Top Down’ projects with confidence.

Location: 

• This four-part knit along is available to attend either in person in our workshop space at Truro Wool, St Mary’s Street, Truro TR1 2AF, or attend online via Zoom. Simply select which participation option you prefer and ‘add to basket’.

Material Requirements:

• Needles
  5.5mm x 50cm circular needle
  5.5mm x 80cm circular needle
  6.5mm x 60cm circular needle
  6.5mm x 80cm circular needle
  If you don’t have these needles in your kit already, the KnitPro Interchangeable Zing and Symfonie ranges offer a great, cost-effective solution as you would need just one set of needle tips per size and three cables.
• Yarn – the recommended yarn is Rico Mega Wool Chunky  (125mtr/100g)
  (Any chunky can be used as long as it has a knitted tension of 14 stitches per 10cm using a 6mm needle – please contact the shop for advice)

Maximum Participants:

• This workshop is limited to a maximum of 8 in-person and 6 online participants

Cancellation Policy:

• If your circumstances change and you are unable to attend a workshop you have booked, please let us know as soon as possible. A 90% refund will be given if the cancellation is made more than 28 days in advance of the start of your workshop (10% is required to cover administrative costs incurred). Unfortunately, no refund can be given on cancellations made within 28 days of the start of the workshop, however, we would be willing to swap your booking over to another name, should you have a friend or family member that would wish to attend in your place.
• Please be advised that if you miss one of the parts of this course, we cannot offer a catch-up session, however, please speak to us about booking a 1-2-1 session as we will, of course, do our best to assist you.
• Very rarely circumstances beyond our control may mean that workshops must be cancelled. Should this happen, the cost of your workshop will be fully refunded.
