This 100% British yarn is supplied by the Cornish company Frangipani. They have specialised in supplying 5 ply worsted spun pure wool for over 25 years. The yarn spun in Yorkshire is suitable for all types of Cornish Gansey, Knit-frock, Guernsey and also works well as a fairisle yarn. With great stitch definition both cable and stitch detailing have a crisp and even appearance.
Naturally warm and to some degree shower proof the yarn is best suited to outer garments.
It is recommend that this yarn is handwashed.
A Basic Gansey Pattern is supplied with this yarn.
Traditionally the Cornish Gansey was worn as a tight fitting garment designed around comfort and durability. Todays tastes tend to like garments a little less fitted so it is recommend if knitting from the pattern supplied to knit two sizes larger than normal.
