This fashionable Granny Motif style jacket with a generous hood and pockets is worked in Aran weight yarn and is warm without being too bulky – ideal for a walk on the beach or stylish enough for a stroll around town.

The Sunburst motifs featured down the back and on the hood are a build on the usual Granny Square giving added texture and interest. The shaping of the garment is easy to master so whether you are a veteran of crochet garments or this is your first time, with the expert help of your tutor Julie Cowan who will guide you through all the techniques, you can be confident that at the end of this Crochet Along you will have a garment to wear with pride.

This KAL is available to attend either in person or online via Zoom.

The sample featured uses the James C Brett Aztec range which contains 10% Alpaca. All our colours in this range can be viewed here. Please note with just a 150 meters of 4 contrast colours for the motifs this could be a great way to ‘bust’ some of that stash – please ask in store if you would like any further advice regarding suitable yarns and quantities. 

  • Locking Stitch Markers
    The KnitPro Locking Stitch Markers are perfect for this project.

Maximum Participants:

  • This workshop is limited to a maximum of 8 in-person and 6 online participants

Cancellation Policy:

  • If your circumstances change and you are unable to attend a workshop you have booked, please let us know as soon as possible.
    A 90% refund will be given if the cancellation is made more than 28 days in advance of the start of your workshop (10% is required to cover administrative costs incurred). Unfortunately, no refund can be given on cancellations made within 28 days of the start of the workshop, however, we would be willing to swap your booking over to another name, should you have a friend or family member that would wish to attend in your place.
  • Please be advised that if you miss one of the parts of this course, we cannot offer a catch-up session, however, please speak to us about booking a 1-2-1 session as we will, of course, do our best to assist you.
  • Very rarely circumstances beyond our control may mean that workshops must be cancelled. Should this happen, the cost of your workshop will be fully refunded.
