Yarn lovers, rejoice – the Truro Wool Retreat is returning for its sixth year!

Friday 30th January – Sunday 1st February 2026

Join us for a joyful weekend of yarn-filled creativity, comfort, and connection at the award-winning Budock Vean Hotel, peacefully nestled along a quiet bend of the beautiful Helford River near Falmouth, Cornwall.

Now in its sixth year, this much-loved retreat has grown into a cherished celebration of friendship, fibre, and guilt-free project indulgence. Whether you’re a returning guest or joining us for the first time, you’re in for a truly special experience.

With just 40 places available, it’s the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to a weekend that’s all about you and your craft. We can’t wait to welcome you to this wonderfully relaxing, woolly escape!

This three-day, two-night retreat is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the yarn craft you love – whether it’s knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, or a bit of everything! Surrounded by fellow crafters who share your passion, you’ll be in the very best company.

Your friendly hosts, Julie and Liz, will be there to greet you, guide the weekend, and make sure you feel completely at home from the moment you arrive.

Each day unfolds in the hotel’s inviting lounge – think crackling fire, comfy sofas, and lots of cheerful chatter. For those eager to learn something new, a selection of optional workshops will run in a dedicated workshop space. In the evenings, unwind with fun, relaxed activities – or simply kick back and soak up the peaceful atmosphere.

As a guest, you’ll also have full access to the hotel’s fantastic leisure facilities, including the newly upgraded heated indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, and Aspen wood Finnish sauna – perfect for a little extra indulgence between projects.

Get ready for hours and hours of guilt-free indulgence in your favourite yarn hobby – because this weekend is all about you and your creative enjoyment! Our relaxed daily schedule gives you a gentle rhythm to follow, but outside of mealtimes, the time is yours to craft, chat, unwind, and repeat. 2024

“Hard to choose as I enjoyed everything! Lots of crafting time with fellow crafters, everyone is so friendly and you guys made us feel very welcome and pampered. Good hotel and food, fun quiz and demonstration. The shop of course haha! Perfect retreat “

2025

“The opportunity to sit and knit without feeling guilty. I rarely knit in the day at home as there’s always something else demanding attention.”

2024

“It was a joy to meet other knitters in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Everyone was so welcoming. I only knew Julie and Liz when I arrived on the Saturday but by the end of the weekend I had made friends with everybody.”

“Please do another one everyone I spoke to enjoyed it all so much!”

2024

“The people – from Truro Wool, from the hotel, from all over the UK who’d come to knit and crochet – fab!”

2025

“Knitting and chatting with old friends and new in lovely surroundings and wonderful food “

2025

“It was fantastic I have tried to go to your retreat before and never got to attend however now I’ve experienced it I’m definitely going to try to go again if I can afford it thanks so much in a busy world it’s great to escape and have a guilt free crochet with no interruptions ❤️”

2025

“I enjoyed everything about the weekend – loved the shop, having both of you for the weekend, the quiz was brilliant, the goodie bags, the food, the hotel, and the general organisation was perfect.”

2024

“It was amazing. I honestly had a brilliant time. Meeting everybody was truly a fantastic experience. Immersing yourself with other yarn enthusiasts was a first for me. I feel I have been starved of meeting actual people who share my love/obsession of knitting and crochet and in some ways it was quite overwhelming! On top of that the hotel was AMAZING… fabulous room, staff, facilities and food!
