Donations for RCHT Treliske Special Care Baby Unit

UPDATE OCTOBER 2023: PLEASE READ

Truro Wool can no longer accept hand knitted and crochet donations on behalf of Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske Special Care Baby Unit.

RCHT has requested that we cease collections of knitted and crocheted items for the unit for the foreseeable. The RCHT team is incredibly grateful for all the donations made, but currently has no capacity to accept more donations due to having received so many in recent months. Therefore we’re sorry but we can no longer take donations of baby unit items at Truro Wool – our premises is just too small to store the items until as/when and if the unit starts taking donations again. We will stay in touch with RCHT and as soon as items are needed again, we’ll update this page and let you know.

Thank you all for your understanding – and for being such speedy and generous knitters that the unit has all that it could need right now. What a lovely reason to have to stop doing something! The knitting and crochet community really is made up of such a kind and wonderful group of people – thank you.

We know how much many of you enjoy knitting for little ones, and also understand some of you may have items already knitted that you’d like to donate. To help you find homes for your lovingly made items, we’ve included links below to a couple of charities that run appeals for specific knitted baby items:
