About Us

HiI’m Julie and Truro Wool is the realisation of my lifelong ambition to create a haven of gorgeous yarns to inspire and excite. Of course, we all get just a little bit excited by yarn but for me it’s also about upholding that special traditional community feel. The type of community where everyone is welcome and an ask for help is a chance to pass on knowledge. Tucked just off the main Boscowan Street, in Truro the shop stocks over a 1000 different yarns from budget man-mades, 100% recycled to luxurious pure natural fibres. We also stock a wide selection of accessories and are happy to advise which would be the right fit for you. Whether you’re looking to learn to knit or crochet, looking for pre-purchase advice on substitutions, quantities, difficulty etc. … or just enjoying a browse, we look forward to welcoming you. We’re a very small team at Truro Wool, but we love to hear about the creative projects our customers are taking on and of course sharing the joy of when the WIP (work in progress) is completed and ready to be enjoyed or gifted to someone special. Hi
I’m Julie and Truro Wool is the realisation of my lifelong ambition to create a haven of gorgeous yarns to inspire and excite.

Bridge of Remembrance

Truro Wool is supported by a fantastic community of knitters and crocheters from near and far. When in 2018 we decided to commemorate the centenary of the end of WW1 with our Bridge of Remembrance we received over 15,000 hand knitted and crochet poppies from as far as South Africa, Canada, Europe and the USA. Support locally was amazing and continues with November 2021 being the fourth year we have been able to share this monumental project with everyone.

Our workshops

A range of workshops, knit along and crochet along groups and our and highly social weekly knit and natter, regularly take place – and we have been delighted that so many people have continued to join us to participate online in the wake of the restrictions we’ve all faced due to the pandemic. Website News

Until recently our website only carried a few of the items we stock – but to help customers continue to find their perfect yarn during these uncertain times, you can now view all of Truro Wool’s yarns. Over the coming months we’ll be adding other accessories too – but in the meantime feel free to call us on 01872 270661 if there’s something you’re looking for but can’t see it online. We’ll always do our very best to help.
