Learn to Crochet / Mitred Granny Square Blanket Workshops (27.04.24)

Join the wonderful and colourful world of crochet with this comprehensive introduction to the art of Crochet. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking for a refresher this is the workshop for you. In the morning we will be focusing on all the basics to get you crocheting, practicing with a basic Granny Square. The afternoon session will take your basic skills learnt in the morning and build on them by teaching you how to plan a project, read a pattern and to work a Mitred Granny Square.

All you need to go from beginner to your completed project in one day !

During her 9 years with Truro Wool your tutor Julie Cowan has taught hundreds of people to crochet and is the perfect person to teach you all the tips, tricks and techniques.

Age Requirement:

• Minimum 12 years

Refreshments will be available both mid morning and mid afternoon. If attending both workshops you are welcome to bring a packed lunch or enjoy one of the many eateries in Truro.

LEARN TO CROCHET (9.30am to 12-30pm)

Included:

• 1x 3-hour workshop
• practice yarn
• Granny Square pattern
• Refreshments

Techniques covered:

• Holding your yarn and hook
• Chain stitch, slip stitch and treble crochet stitches
• English vs American terminology
• Basic Granny Square

Skill Level:

• Beginner

Location:

Material Requirements:

• 4mm Hook

Maximum Participants:

• This workshop is limited to a maximum of 6 participants

MITRED GRANNY SQUARE BLANKET (1.30pm to 4-30pm)

Included:

• 1x 3-hour workshop
• practice yarn
• Mitred Granny Square Blanket pattern
• Refreshments

Techniques covered:

• Mitred Granny Square
• Joining Squares
• Adding the Border
• Pattern Reading
• Colour planning

Skill Level:

• Novice

Material Requirements:

• 4mm Hook

Maximum Participants:

• This workshop is limited to a maximum of 8 participants

 

Cancellation Policy:

• If your circumstances change and you are unable to attend a workshop you have booked, please let us know as soon as possible.
  A 90% refund will be given if the cancellation is made more than 28 days in advance of the start of your workshop (10% is required to cover administrative costs incurred). Unfortunately, no refund can be given on cancellations made within 28 days of the start of the workshop, however, we would be willing to swap your booking over to another name, should you have a friend or family member that would wish to attend in your place.
• Please be advised that if you miss one of the parts of this course, we cannot offer a catch-up session, however, please speak to us about booking a 1-2-1 session as we will, of course, do our best to assist you.
• Each of these workshops requires a minimum of 4 participants to run.
• Very rarely circumstances beyond our control may mean that workshops must be cancelled. Should this happen, the cost of your workshop will be fully refunded.
