Mystical Lanterns Crochet Blanket Technique Workshop (26.10.2024)

Mystical Lanterns is one of crochet designer Janie Crow’s most popular patterns. Its distinctive lantern-shaped motif is inspired by a granny hexagon, but with key modifications to create a beautiful curved, tessellating design. With endless colour possibilities, this gorgeous pattern is also ideal for stash-busting projects.

In this full-day workshop, expert tutor Julie Cowan will guide you step by step through the stitches needed to create the core motif, as well as how to join motifs and add a border to complete your vibrant project. You will also be guided on how to select and use colours so you can turn your ‘stash’ into a beautiful and unique project.

  • As this is a full day workshop, there will be an hours break for lunch. Lunch is not provided but there’s time for you to go and enjoy one of Truro’s lovely eateries, or feel free to bring a packed lunch.

• A variety of crochet stitches including double, treble, cluster and post stitches
• Joining motifs
• Pattern Reading
• Converting English and American terminology

Skill Level:

• Confident Novice – able to chain, double and treble crochet (UK terminology)

• 4mm crochet hook (please note that some customisation may need you to use small or larger hook)

• Minimum 12 years

• This workshop is limited to a maximum of 8 participants.

Cancellation Policy:

• If your circumstances change and you are unable to attend a workshop you have booked, please let us know as soon as possible. A 90% refund will be given if the cancellation is made more than 28 days in advance of the start of your workshop (10% is required to cover administrative costs incurred). Unfortunately, no refund can be given on cancellations made within 28 days of the start of the workshop, however, we would be willing to swap your booking over to another name, should you have a friend or family member that would wish to attend in your place.

• This workshop requires a minimum of 4 participants to run.
