Fairisle & Steeking Workshop (12.10.2024)

£65.00

SATURDAY 12th OCTOBER 2024 9:30-16:00

A whole day dedicated to mastering the fantastic techniques of Fairisle knitting and (sometimes daunting but oh so worthwhile when you know how) process of steeking. Steeking is the technique of reinforcement and cutting of knitted fabric. A steek is knitted into your ‘worked in the round’ project allowing you to then cut the steek to create openings. This is most commonly used to create Fairisle cardigans or jackets.

Over the course of the workshop, your expert tutor, Julie Cowan, will guide you through all of the techniques, along with tips and tricks that only experience brings, so you leave the workshop feeling confident in a wealth of new skills.
